Website Design

So you decided you want a website. Now what!

At this point I could give you my sales pitch on what I think you need. Unfortunately, until we talk, I don't know enough about you, your business or your customers to do that. The only thing I do know is that you probably looking for more business. And everyone says, the internet is the place to be. Right

Here are the basic elements to most websites.

Cost

I list this one first because I know what your thinking. How much will this cost. If I were to categorize your basic website's I would say there are three. The small, the medium and the large. As you can imagine the price goes up with the size. Its hard to say which will work best for you. This depends on your business and if you have products for sale or if you just reform a service and a variety of other factors. I will tell you that I can put together a website for most budgets. The site will have a solid design and will be there for your customers when they are online. The site will be yours to update, add onto or even move to another website person if you are unsatisfied in any way. The one thing I can quote you is a price for the phone call to us. It's Free. Now on to the other stuff!

Homepage:

Every site needs one. It should be an eye catching advertisement for your business.Your homepage should include a summary of all your services. And it should direct you to all the other pages on your site. Sounds simple yes, but cram too much info onto a page or not enough and your customers will leave as quickly as they came in. Keep in mind that the consumer never lacks for an alternative to your site and its only a click away. So once you have them in you want to put your best presentation forward.

Another thing to keep in mind is that unlike a store or office your clients wont all walk through the front door. Customers will enter your site through every page you have. Therefore be prepared to sell them on every location. Could you imagine customers through the back door, basement, the roof and even the bathroom window.

Contact Page:

All the standard information that people want to know about you. Who you are. Names of important employees. Phone numbers, email addresses, fax numbers, hours of operation, address and more.

About Us page:

I like to know who I am doing business with. You may not think that it is very important to your customers, but it is a great source of information. Not just for your customers to read but for the search engines as well. we will get back to this point.

Product Pages

I often say the best approach to marketing a business is to treat each client as if they have only one product to sell. If you do it this way then you can be assured that you have a thorough understanding of every product they have.

Here is an interesting example. Lets suppose that you sell shoes and you sell 10 different styles. You tell me that 5 sell very well, 4 sell medium and 1 does not sell that often. I ask you why you think the last one sells so poorly. You respond that only 1 in 100 people are actually in the market for that shoe. Let say its because its purple with flowers or some specialty work boot.

That means that of your current customers your market for that shoe is only 1%. Now multiply that by the entire population of the country. I don't know the population, but I bet 1% is a lot of people

Search Engines and the Internet:

Search engines go through your site and index every word you write. This is why the written words on your site are so important. Every time you type something into your search bar search engines like google, MSN and Yahoo go through every page they have indexed and return only those pages with similar content.
